It has been announced that melancholic pop-rock group Go By Brooks will be joining Café au Lait and Liss K as supporting acts for Christina Stürmer's performance at the Festival de Wiltz on Sunday 19 July 2015.
Go By Brooks is comprised of Laetitia Koener, singer and guitarist; Jérôme Moes on synthesiser and backing vocals; Gilles Krein on drums and percussion; and bassist Sacha Heck. Recently Nicolas Palumbo, who has played guitar with the likes of Chr!s, Emilie Duval and Mental, became part of the adventure.
The concept and name of the band was developed by singer Laetitia Koener, after she stumbled upon the poem 'Brooks Go By' by Leonard Cohen in Paris and used it as a source of inspiration to create constantly-evolving musical feats. The songs that the band will be performing, such as the rock rhythmic 'Dancing With the Devil' and 'Obey' and the cynical 'Streets of Paris' were influenced by artists such as Leonard Cohen, Lissie and Damien Rice.
Go By Brooks will be supporting Austrian singer Christina Stürmer, who sings about the topics of love, friendship, alcohol and drugs, and war and peace which torment young people of her generation.
Stürmer's musical talents arose from an early age, with her playing the saxophone in a jazz band at the age of thirteen. She went on to finish second place in 2003 at Austrian talent-casting show 'Starmania', which has borne the early beginnings of other Austrian stars such as 2014 Eurovision Song Contest winner Conchita Wurst (then Thomas Neuwirth).
The same year, she released her first single 'Ich Lebe' ('I'm Living') and debut album 'Freier Fall' ('Freefall'), embarking on her first tour of the same name. She went on to release singles 'Nie Genug' ('Never Enough'), and 'Alles was Zählt' ('Everything that Matters') as well as the album 'Lebe Lauter' ('Live Loud'), with the latter reaching Number 1 in sales in Austria and Germany.
