This summer, Neimënster will host its new “Bock op” festival starting in early June until July.

The new festival, named after the Luxembourgish expression “to fancy something” or “to be up for something”, attempts to capture that summer feeling as temperatures rise in Luxembourg. The name “Bock op” also plays on the fact that the Abbey lies nested at the foot of the historic Bock rock on which the Grand Duchy’s first castle was built in 963 by Count Siegfried.

The agenda encompasses concerts of all genres, exhibitions, sensual poetry and powerful poetry slam and much more for all ages.

The exhibitions “Ils défendent nos idées: 30 ans du Prix Sakharov” and “Rock Fossils” will kickstart the summer festival on 2 June 2018, both open every day from 11:00-18:00 until 3 July 2018.

Next up is a series of musical events: LCD Soundsystem on 8-9 June from 11:00-18:00, IAM on 9 June at 20:00 and Boléro (Military Music) on 10 June at 20:00. These will be followed by the 11th edition of the Printemps des Poètes on 15 June at 20:00, the music event Grand Corps Malade on 16 June at 12:00 and the (sold-out) concert from French artist Louane on 21 June at 20:00.

The summer festival will come to a close with the Siren’s Call festival on 28 June from 18:00 and the Blues’n Jazz Rallye festival on 21 July from 14:00.
