The Consulate General of Luxembourg in New York has announced the performance of Michel Reis at the Blue Note Jazz Festival on Saturday 16 June 2018 at 13:30.

The festival, taking place at the Blue Note Jazz Club on 131 West 3rd Street, New York, will see Luxembourg artist Michel Reis perform, accompanied by Aiden O’Donnell on bass and Peter Traunmueller on drums.

Hailed as a “tremendous pianist” by Downbeat Magazine, Luxembourg-born pianist and composer Michel Reis has in recent years paved his way into an artist of international acclaim. He has released 10 albums and has appeared in many of the world’s most famous venues and festivals. He is also very active as a composer and arranger for larger orchestras, having just completed a project with his Reis Demuth Wiltgen Trio featuring saxophonist Joshua Redman and the Luxembourg Symphony Orchestra under the baton of multi-Grammy winning artist Vince Mendoza. Currently living between New York and Luxembourg, Reis tours extensively across the globe with his different bands.

The Blue Note Jazz Festival forms part of the European Sounds Series, curated by The Blue Note, the EU Delegation to the UN, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, the Consulate General of Luxembourg, the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Consulate General of Greece and Onassis Foundation USA, the Balassi Institute/Hungarian Cultural Centre New York, the Dutch Culture USA programme by the Consulate General of the Netherlands in New York, the Consulate General of Slovakia and the Consulate General of Spain New York. Each country is represented by a performer who embodies the sound and spirit of his/her respective country.

Performers include: Luba Mason (Slovakia); Petros Klampanis (Greece); Yacine Boularès: AJOYO (France); Nikolett Pankovits Band (Hungary); Michel Reis (Luxembourg); Alexis Cuadrado Trio (Spain); Asen Doykin Band (Bulgaria); Manuel Schmiedel Quartet (Germany); Jorn Swart (Netherlands).

Tickets cost $39.50, including brunch, show and a drink. Brunch is served from 10:30-15:00.
