The commune of Hesperange is organising the "Rock Am Park" festival for this Friday 6 July 2018 at KIOPA (communal park) from 20:00.
The event will feature performances from Go By Brooks (at 20:00), The Tame and the Wild (at 21:00) and Lata Gouveia (at 22:00).
Laetitia's solo project at first, Go By Brooks has grown since its creation in 2013, branching out from its acoustic folk beginnings and towards a more pop-rock and classic rock repertoire. From one, then three, to today's five members, the group has found its balance and mixes the conservatoire's classical teaching with a touch of madness-funk added to the rather dark lyrics of Laetitia. Their first EP, "Rivers", was released in 2015 and the second, "Oceans" in 2016. Since then, concerts in Luxembourg and the Greater Region have been ongoing, especially in 2017 when they performed in Luxembourg, Metz, Saarbrücken, Trier and Arlon. Go By Brooks will present their brand new album at Kulturfabrik in Esch-sur-Alzette on 8 December 2018.
The second act of the lineup, The Tame and the Wild, is a nostalgic group of indie-folk around the duo of singer-songwriters Seja and Flëpp. The group's music explores human emotions in the world of nature, the sea and the stars, youth and age, resilience and love, daring and resignation, honesty and memory. The songs challenge some very personal situations and are often closely related to nature. The Tame and the Wild have their influences in the sounds of bands such as Daughter, Sóley, Kodaline, Boy or Feist.
The final act of the Rock Am Park festival will be Lata Gouveia, one of the leading figures on the Luxembourg music scene who works in collaboration with Chris Theis, a double Grammy award-winner. Lata has been back in Luxembourg since 2001, after spending several years living and sharing daily life with musicians from Austin (Texas) as well as the most prominent representatives of the folk scene of the Red Dirt Scene in Oklahoma. Today he is one of the leading representatives of songwriters in Luxembourg, having established himself as a key actor in the American folk scene with his presence in most major events in the region.
