On Sunday, at the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France, the Luxembourg animation sector won a total of five awards, as follows:

• The Grand Prix of the competition - the Cristal for the best feature film - was awarded to Funan, directed by Denis Do and co-produced by Bac Cinema (David Grumbach, with the participation of La Fabrique d'Images).

• Three prizes for Nora Twomey's The Breadwinner, co-produced by Melusine Productions (Stephan Roelants): Audience Award, Jury Prize and a Special Award for Best Original Music.

• Swallows in Kabul, directed by Eléa Gobbé-Mévellec and Zabou Breitman, co-produced by Melusine Productions (Stephan Roelants), won the GAN Foundation Award for Dissemination (MIFA Award).

Luxembourg had five films in selection in Annecy; the Film Fund Luxembourg was represented for the 18th time with an umbrella stand at the film market.
