The announcement of a new selection for Sameh Zoabi's "Tel Aviv on Fire" (Samsa Film co-production) in the "Discovery" category of the 43rd edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) completes the range of Luxembourgish co-productions selected by autumn film festivals; five feature films from three production companies will represent the colours and artistic quality of the Grand Duchy on the international scene in the coming weeks.

The Toronto International Film Festival, to be held from 6 to 16 September 2018, has also selected three other Luxembourgish co-productions: "Black 47" by Lance Daly (Samsa Film) and "Sibel" by Guillaume Giovanetti / Cagla Zencirci (Bidibul Productions) in the category "Contemporary World Cinema", as well as "Angelo" by Markus Schleinzer (Amour Fou Luxembourg) in the "Platform" section.

David Lambert's third film, "Trois-Nuages", also co-produced by Bidibul Productions, is in official competition at the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival, whose 11th edition will take place from 21 to 26 August 2018.

"Tel Aviv on Fire" (Samsa Film), the second feature film by Palestinian director Sameh Zoabi, is also selected in the "Orizzionti" category of the 75th Venice Film Festival (29 August - 8 September 2018).

And Markus Schleinzer will present his second feature film "Angelo" (co-produced by Amour Fou Luxembourg) at the 66th Festival of San Sebastián (21-29 September 2018) in competition for the Golden Shell / Coquille d’Or.

"Sibel" (Bidibul Productions) recently won three prizes at the 71st Locarno International Film Festival (1 to 17 August 2018): the Fipriesci Prize of the International Federation of Film Critics, the Ecumenical Prize for Film Distribution and the second prize in the category "Premio Giuria dei giovani" awarded to the three best directors of the Concorso Internazionale.
