Film Fund Luxembourg has announced that a Luxembourg co-production will feature in the official selection of the upcoming 77th annual Cannes Film Festival.

The first official selections for the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival have just been released and the fiction feature film All We Imagine as Light by Indian director Payal Kapadia, co-produced by Les Films Fauves (Gilles Chanial and Govinda Van Maele) with France, India and the Netherlands, has already been announced to feature in the festival’s official competition.

Film Fund Luxembourg financially supported the film as part of the “Cineworld” selective financial aid. Further film selections are expected and will be announced next week.

To promote Luxembourg cinema on the largest international film market in the world, Film Fund Luxembourg announced it will be present in Cannes, from 14 to 25 May 2024, with its pavilion located in the international village. It will host around twenty companies and entities under this umbrella, including production companies and companies specialising in post-production, sound and new technologies, as well as the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE) training programme, the Luxembourg City Film Festival and the Creative Europe MEDIA support programme.

The traditional Luxembourg day will take place on Saturday 18 May 2024 in the presence of Luxembourg’s Minister of Culture, Eric Thill, audiovisual professionals and the press.
