On the initiative of the Film Fund Luxembourg and the Swiss Federal Office of Culture, a delegation of Swiss producers visited Luxembourg on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 March 2018.

The purpose of this visit was to discuss the evolution of the respective audiovisual / film production sectors, to learn about coproduction support mechanisms and respective modes of operation in terms of project support, as well as to reinforce and renew the links between Luxembourgish and Swiss film producers.

The Swiss delegation visited Filmland studios in Kehlen and the 1535° Creative Hub in Differdange to meet production companies, animation studios and post-production companies. Swiss producers also took the opportunity to discover some of the characteristic venues and locations in the Grand Duchy that could prove to be interesting for future projects. A bilateral working meeting was also held in the Filmland studios to develop new co-productions between the two countries in the future.

Since 1993, more than twenty co-productions between Switzerland and Luxembourg have been created. The co-production agreement signed between the two countries in 2011 also favoured the creation of new works.

Guy Daleiden, director of film Fund Luxembourg, stated "The Luxembourg audiovisual sector depends on the size of its market for international co-productions. The exchanges of the last two days with our Swiss friends underline the desire to further develop this close collaboration that has existed for several years."

Laurent Steiert, Deputy Head of the Federal Office of Culture, Cinema Section, said "This meeting between our two countries reveals a strong similarity between our support systems and the desire to develop new co-productions. Switzerland and Luxembourg obviously want to enrich this relationship in the future".
