The annual rate of inflation in Luxembourg increased to 1.3% in May 2018.

In May, the consumer price index rose 0.34% from the previous month. This movement is mainly due to a sharp rise in the price of petroleum products, up 3.9% in one month.

Prices excluding petroleum products rose by only 0.14%.

The general index for May, expressed in index base 100 in 2015, was 103.48 points. The semi-annual average of the index linked to the 1.1.1948 base rose from 848.18 to 849.74 points.
