Luxembourg financial trade union ALEBA today organised a protest in front of the Banque Hapoalim.

Following Banque Hapoalim’s failure to compromise over its social plan, which resulted in the job loss of some 30 people, and its so-far unsuccessful negotiations with ALEBA earlier this week, a group of employees joined a protest in front of the bank this afternoon.
Around 150 protesters then marched to the building of one of Banque Hapoalim’s trading companies, Banque J. Safra Sarasin, located on Boulevard Joseph II. In so doing, ALEBA hoped to spread awareness of the current situation of Hapoalim employees to the other bank.

A second meeting before the National Office for Conciliation and Demonstration on the matter is anticipated for Banque Hapoalim.
