Degroof Petercam AM has received the LuxFLAG ESG Label for their DPAM Invest B Equities World Sustainable (Global Sustainable Equity Fund).

LuxFLAG aims to promote the raising of capital for the Responsible Investment sector by awarding a recognisable label to eligible investment vehicles.

The strategy invests in companies with a strong CSR reputation and excludes companies which violate Global Compact on human and labor rights, anti-corruption policies and protection of environment. It also refrains from investing in the most controversial companies and the ‘usual suspects’ tobacco, gambling, armament and pornography are excluded too. In addition, companies with the bottom 25% ESG scores in each industry group, according to research agencies, are systematically eliminated from the Strategy investment universe. Furthermore, the carbon intensity of the portfolio is substantially below that of a global equity universe. The goal is to further support corporate ESG stewardship.

Ophélie Mortier, Responsible Investment Strategist, commented “The DPAM Invest B Equities World Sustainable holdings correspond 100% to ESG investments. Degroof Petercam AM subscribes to ESG research from external independent international leaders in this field, and also draws on the strong internal resources of the Responsible Investment Steering Group. Last but not least, we apply strict transparency in regularly communicating about our sustainable product range. On a quarterly basis, we publish an extra-financial report of the fund as well as an ESG factsheet for our sustainable strategies.”

"The LuxFLAG ESG Label is recognized for high standards and rigorous assessment of applicant investment fund’s investment strategy and process. We are pleased to announce that DPAM Invest B World Equities Sustainable meets the eligibility criteria of the LuxFLAG ESG Label and therefore have been awarded with the ESG label starting from 01 January 2018", said Sachin Vankalas, Director, Operations and Sustainability at LuxFLAG.

Alexander Roose, Senior Portfolio Manager at Degroof Petercam Asset Management, contended “In addition to the strong ESG characteristics, the underlying companies must live up to the highest financial standards in terms of business models, balance sheet, management quality and governance rules. In that respect, genuine added value can be generated.”
