The first meeting of the European Joint Undertaking for High-Performance Computing (EuroHPC) took place this morning at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Kirchberg.

The meeting featured guest speakers Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner responsible for the Digital Economy and Society, and Mario Grotz, Head of Research, Intellectual Property and New Technologies at the Ministry of the Economy. The keynote address by Commissioner Mariya Gabriel was followed by a Q&A session.

As part of the European High-Performance Computing project, the headquarters and offices of EuroHPC are established in Luxembourg. Bringing together the European Union and 25 European countries, including the Grand Duchy, the joint venture's mission is to set up an integrated pan-European supercomputer infrastructure in order to eventually provide the computational capabilities needed by companies, research centres and universities and researchers to ensure EU competitiveness in the context of the development of the digital economy.
