Amal Choury, founder and CEO of e-Kenz and the head of EuroCloud Luxembourg since 2010, has passed the baton of President of EuroCloud Luxembourg to Yves Reding, CEO of EBRC (European Business Reliance Centre), who had been vice president of the association.

This succession is part of a mainstreaming approach on working groups of FEDIL-ICT and ICT Luxembourg of which Amal Choury has been a member since 2010 and 2011 respectively. However, she will continue her commitment through her new role as Vice President of EuroCloud Luxembourg.

Since her appointmentbsix years ago, Amal Choury has started to promote Cloud Computing and SaaS - "Software as a Service '- both domestically and internationally. Her term was marked by numerous achievements, including:

- The organisation of the EuroCloud Europe congresses in Luxembourg for five consecutive years between 2010 and 2014;

- Transfer of the European headquarters from Paris to Luxembourg in 2013, confirming the Grand Duchy's position as a cluster of excellence for Cloud Computing;

- The introduction of a dynamic in the internal market regarding the offers of Cloud Computing and SaaS;

- The amendment of Article 567 of the Commercial Code relating to the reversibility of data in case of bankruptcy of a cloud provider. The evolution of legislation, on which EuroCloud is constantly working, aims to create a favourable and secure legal framework for companies that have mastered cloud computing.

As the new President, Yves Reding will focus on:

- Promotional activities of a "cloud-friendly" eco-system in Luxembourg;

- Promoting the strengthening of trust and security in "Cloud Made in Luxembourg", in line with the pillars of the "Digital Letzebuerg" programme.

- Strengthening links with "EuroCloud Europe," national "EuroCloud" associations in countries of the European Union and other European ICT associations;

- Support for initiatives to promote a pan-European cloud, in line with the "Digital Europe" programme of the European Union;

- Active participation in the emergence of cloud standards and European maturity models, in line with new data protection standards in Europe.

In 2016, EuroCloud Luxembourg supports and actively participates in "Cyber Europe", designed to test resilience and Cybersecurity across the European continent. The exercise will target cloud services and infrastructure, CERTs and Internet Service Providers.

The "Cyber Europe" programme is conducted under the responsibility of "High Commissioner for National Protection" and at European level of ENISA (EU Agency for Network and Information Security).
