Five Luxembourg exhibitors represented the Grand Duchy at the 2018 edition of the Hannover Fair, held last week from 23-27 April.

With 6,500 exhibitors and some 200,000 trade visitors from more than 70 countries, the Hannover Fair is an renowned international gathering for the promotion of innovation and new technologies applied to the industry sector. For the 2018 edition, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and the Fedil proposed several initiatives to their nationals: a national pavilion dedicated to research and innovation, a guided tour and b2fair business meetings.

At this year’s Hanover Fair, the Chamber of Commerce took over the Ministry of Economy for the organisation of a National Pavilion bringing together several Luxembourg companies dedicated to research, innovation and technology development and transfer. In line with the strategic study of the Third Industrial Revolution, the Chamber of Commerce decided to support companies active in intelligent, interconnected technologies, systems and industrial processes.

Five Luxembourg exhibitors were present this time around: ArcelorMittal (steel industry), Rotarex (gas control products and systems), MDI (Motor Development International - compressed air motors and light vehicles), Windeco (mechanical components) and Firis (Virtual Reality). Other Luxembourg companies were present at the show with individual stands. These were IEE, Köhl, Vyzvoice and Impro as well as Codipro and Camso, present at the CEMAT Logistics and Supply Chain Trade Fair, organised at the same time on the same site.

Moreover, on 24 April, the Chamber of Commerce organised a Luxembourg day on its stand, in the presence of Sonia Wedell (Castellano, Global Director, Research & Technology), Luxembourg Ambassador to Germany Jean Graff and Nicolas Buck, President of the Fedil. This reception allowed foreign companies and institutions to meet the Luxembourg representatives to measure the opportunities offered by our national market. A guided tour was also organised on this day, attracting 47 people from 24 companies or organisations, representing industry, finance, consulting and telecommunications as well as research centres, professional chambers or national agencies.

In addition, for the 14th year, the Enterprise Europe Network of the Chamber of organised b2fair meetings, matchmaking potential business partners. 2,000 meetings were organised throughout the 5 days of the fair with 500 leaders present, representing more than 300 companies from 32 countries. Among them, 18 Luxembourg companies registered for the meetings.
