Registration is still open for 13-25 year olds interested in joining the 2019 Lëtz Cybersecurity Challenge.

In response to the demand for some 350,000 cybersecurity professionals in Europe by 2022, the Cybersecurity Competence Centre Luxembourg (C3), an initiative by the Ministry of Economy, launched the first Lëtz Cybersecurity Challenge last week.

The competition, which started on 1 December 2018, targets open-minded creative and digital natives aged 13 to 25. The aim is not only to find talent but encourage young people to pursue a career in cybersecurity and related disciplines. The challenge also promotes safe online behaviour by raising awareness of information security issues as well as developing expertise and an interest in cybersecurity through challenging games and skill tests.

The challenge is organised within the frame of the European Cybersecurity Challenge (ECSC) which is an initiative by the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA). A national team will be chosen from the Lëtz Cybersecurity Challenge to represent the Grand Duchy at the next ECSC, taking place in Bucharest in October 2019.

The challenge requires not only technical skills, but also communication and business skills as well as fairplay. Until the end of May 2019, the competitiors will be faced with multiple online challenges and several  meet-ups with workshops led by experts.

Registration is still open. For more information, visit https://cybersecuritychallenge.lu.
