The Luxembourg Institute of Regulation (ILR) yesterday presented its new free application “checkmynet.lu” which measures the quality of internet access in the Grand Duchy.

The new checkmynet.lu app enables consumers to check and compare the performance of their internet subscription registered with their telecom operator. The ILR has now launched its new tool online and, through the app, hopes to raise the awareness of users of internet subscriptions. The app can therefore verify whether the actual performance of the service subscribed corresponds to that indicated in their contract.

The app can be consulted on www.checkmynet.lu. It is also possible to download it for free in the App Stores Android and iOS. Checkmynet.lu is available in several languages (English, German, French, Luxembourgish).

In order to obtain adequate results, users are recommended to follow the instructions and consult the frequently asked questions available on checkmynet.lu. The results are explained by colour codes and can be shared. Moreover, the results are saved in a history gathering all the tests carried out and are displayed on a geographical map.
