The Consulate General of Luxembourg in New York has announced that the Gregor Huebner “El Violin Latino” Quartet and singer Adrienne Hann will perform during a Fall celebration of music in New York this month.

The first event is Latin Jazz with Gregor Huebner “El Violin Latino” Quartet featuring Luxembourg percussionist Jérôme Goldschmidt and takes place at The Zinc Bar on 82 West 3rd Street in New York on Monday 26 September from 22:00.

German artist Gregor Huebner has always been passionate about Latin music and has been a member of many tango groups and jazz formations. His excellent violin performances can be heard on many albums, including solo projects, which have proved successful in both Europe and the USA.

Jérôme Goldschmidt is an established Luxembourgish musician/percussion player. He moved to New York in 1996 and became a faculty member of the Harbor Performing Arts Center, recognized as one of the premier teaching institutions in the country of Afro-Carribean culture. He has played with a variety of diverse groups, including Tito Puente Orchestra and Chico O’Farrill’s Afro-Cuban Big Band. He has been playing with violinist/bandleader/composer Gregor Huebner for over a decade including at the Luxembourg House and at the German House in New York. In 2014, the Consulate General of Luxembourg presented the newly created Huebner’s El Violin Latino Quartet at Something Jazz Club.

The second event is “ADRIENNE HAAN SINGS KURT WEILL: BERLIN – PARIS – NEW YORK” which takes place on Wednesday 28 September from 19:00 at Metropolitan Room in New York, on 34 West 22nd Street between Fifth & Sixth Avenues. The event is supported by the Kurt Weill Foundation and is endorsed by the Consulates General of Germany and Luxembourg.

Luxembourgish-German singer Adrienne Hann has achieved international success with her caberet performances. Cabaret Scenes described her as “an old fashioned entertainer of the highest caliber.” During this upcoming event, she will perform the great works of international composer Kurt Weill with songs from the three major phases of his career. It is a one-off performance which is best described as a musical or a one woman show involving acting, singing, personal stories and history.
