The Greg Lamy Quartet will release their new album “Press Enter" - on the Belgian Label Igloo Records - on Saturday 7 October at 19:30 at the Rotondes in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie.

The highly anticipated fourth album of the Luxembourgish modern jazz quartet is driven by a strong rhythm; Greg Lamy develops a groovy play and saturated sounds with a hint of soul, and an approach to the guitar that recalls the sound palette of John Scofield – Claude Loxhay on “Press Enter” in Jazzaround (BE)

More than just an album marked by modernity – as the titles “Control Swift”, “Erase”, “Exit” and “Press Enter” suggest – its nine original compositions (plus a bonus track) are first and foremost an invitation to a journey. The album thus seduces with a broad range of sensations, both impressionist and figurative, melancholic and energetic… Lamy’s abundant inspiration is more than ever revealed by a decade-long musical complicity with his fellow musicians.

Characterised by an alchemical osmosis and composed of Greg Lamy (guitar), Johannes Müller (saxophone), Jean-Marc Robin (drums) and Gautier Laurent (double bass), the Greg Lamy Quartet is an accomplished ensemble, inspiring and ambitious, harmonious and pluralistic and always driven by the pleasure of playing together, thus creating a unique jazz atmosphere.

For the quartet, a tour follows hot on the heels of another. Europe, United States, Brazil – they keep being successful in Luxembourg as well as abroad. Their latest album, “Meeting” (2013), received critical and public acclaim and was one of the label’s bestselling albums. In 2016, the Luxembourgish music export office music:LX awarded them the Export Artist of the Year Award in the jazz category.
