Luxembourg's Ministry of Digitalization has announced that, on Friday 1 February 2019, the government's cabinet has confirmed that they will propose to HRH the Grand Duke the appointment of Patrick Houtsch as the new Director of the State's Centre for Information Technology (CTIE) from that date, taking over from Gilles Feith.

Patrick Houtsch, born on 10 July 1972, studied at the University of Liège. He demonstrates a deep knowledge in the field of information technology, citing an experience of nearly two decades in the field of ICT working with the state. Since 2014 he has held the position of Deputy Director of the State Information Technology Centre and was responsible for leading the Computer Emergency Response Team from 2011 to 2014.

The State Information Technology Centre, with some 500 employees, is under the supervision of the new Ministry of Digitalization. CTIE, as a service provider of IT services in Luxembourg, is a key player in the implementation and development of eGovernment for the benefit of citizens and businesses. Its main mission is to support the digital transition of Luxembourg's administrations, so that each one of them can take full advantage of the opportunities offered by information and communication technologies (ICT).

The CTIE is also in charge of MyGuichet.lu, gateway for citizens and businesses to the 250 online services of the State.
