Aztec Group has announced two senior promotions within its Luxembourg office: private debt specialist, Stephen Osmont, has been promoted to Director, while Claudio Padovan has become an Associate Director in the Group’s compliance department.

Stephen joined the Group’s team in Luxembourg last year, to bolster its debt offering. He now leads the private debt team in the region, servicing the full spectrum of debt funds and special purpose vehicles (SPVs). Stephen is also actively engaged in managing client relationships and works closely with our business development team to raise the Group’s profile and pursue potential business opportunities.

Stephen is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds an Honours Degree in Applied and Environmental Geology from the University of Birmingham.

Claudio joined the Aztec Group in May 2015 and has been fundamental to the growth of their anti-money laundering and compliance team. A senior member of the Group compliance team, he works closely on the overarching compliance strategy and its implementation across Europe. Following his promotion, Claudio will be responsible for continuing to develop the compliance and AML framework and technical services offered to clients.

Claudio holds a Law degree from the University of Trieste in Italy, as well as a professional Compliance certification delivered by the Institut de Formation Bancaire, Luxembourg.

Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, the Group’s Luxembourg office has experienced significant growth since it opened. It has increased from just two members of staff a decade ago, to over 200 people managing 100 funds and €45 billion in AUA for over 80 clients.

Commenting on the promotions, Alan Ross, Managing Director of the Aztec Group’s Luxembourg office, said “Stephen and Claudio are extremely competent professionals and well respected by clients and colleagues alike. They have played a vital role in the continued growth of our business in Luxembourg and I’m delighted to see their efforts and contribution rewarded by the Group.”
