Elodie Duchène, Baker Mackenzie;

Baker McKenzie Luxembourg has announced the promotion of Elodie Duchêne to Partner.

Elodie integrated the M&A practice of the Firm's Luxembourg office in 2015 as senior associate. She has over eleven years of experience in domestic and international M&A and practices mainly in the area of corporate law. She holds a Master in International Business Law, from the University of Nancy, and has been admitted to the Luxembourg bar (List I) since 2007.

Elodie advises local and international clients on the structuring of international transactions, corporate finance, and on complex issues relating to mergers and acquisitions, group reorganizations and the setup of company structures in Luxembourg. Furthermore, she routinely works with private equity funds on the structuring of their investments, and has significant experience in advising international clients, including Luxembourg banks and insurance firms, on acquisitions, joint ventures, and management incentive plans. Elodie also has experience in structuring private wealth for high net worth individuals.

"We are very happy to welcome Elodie among the firm's partners. Through her integrity, her hard work and her dedication to our clients, she has demonstrated time and time again how much she deserves this promotion. I would like to congratulate her on her achievements and I look forward to having her alongside me, building the future of our M&A practice" said Jean-François Findling, Partner and head of the office's M&A practice.

Across the Firm's practice groups globally, 68 new partners were elected. This latest investment in the Firm's expertise grows the total number of partners worldwide to 1,600. Over 400 of these are women - the most of any law firm. During Financial Year 2018, Baker McKenzie also added 53 lateral hires, strengthening the Firm's already strong client service capabilities in key practice areas. Combining this year's promotions and new lateral talent, the Firm added 121 partners to its ranks.

Paul Rawlinson, Global Chair of Baker McKenzie, said "Congratulations to all of our new Partners - and welcome to the Firm. In a recent voluntary engagement survey of our 13,000 people worldwide, we scored highly on: pride in our Firm, our commitment to client-service and the Firm's commitment to D&I. This year's partner promotions shows that this is getting results: 40% of our new partners globally are women and 40% of our new full equity partners are women. We have a long way to go but I wanted to mark this achievement and the commitment of our people to being a truly diverse Firm".
