On Monday 15 January 2024, Arendt announced the opening of its new representative office in Frankfurt, Germany, in 2024, which they described as "a significant milestone in our international expansion".

Arendt assists its clients on an international scale on Luxembourg law matters, including fund managers of all asset classes throughout the fund cycle, as well as multinational companies and insurance companies. According to its press release, it has "a thorough understanding of the German legal and economic environment, as well as strong experience with Germany-based asset managers and financial institutions, including the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the European Central Bank". 
 
Claude Niedner, Arendt Co-Chair, stated “In our Frankfurt office, Arendt will continue to provide its unique expertise in Luxembourg law, tax, regulatory, consulting and investor services from a single point.” 
 
Arendt’s Frankfurt office will be the central point of contact for their current and future German-speaking clients, as well as international clients who wish to structure products for the German market.

Dr. Constanze Jacobs, Arendt Frankfurt-based Head of office, stated “Through its local presence, Arendt will be in a position to more closely provide guidance to asset managers and investors already active in the Luxembourg market or interested in the Luxembourg fund centre. Arendt´s capability to focus specifically on the legal requirements and market practices to which German clients are subject when structuring Luxembourg products and transactions will be considerably enhanced. We are also looking forward to strengthening our ties even further with our peers from major international and local law firms and continue to serve them with respect to all Luxembourg matters.” 

Luxembourg task force

Around a third of the 450 legal experts/lawyers at Arendt are German speakers, including legal experts/lawyers with dual qualification in Luxembourg and Germany. Their German-speaking professionals are spread across all practice areas and fields of expertise. 

Frankfurt office key contacts

The Frankfurt office will be headed by Dr. Constanze Jacobs, who will be supported by Paul Hoffmann (Senior Associate, Investment Management). Dr. Philipp Jost and Dominik Pauly will coordinate German market activities between the Frankfurt office and Arendt’s headquarters in Luxembourg.

Dr. Constanze Jacobs (Frankfurt-based Head of office, specialist in Investment Funds) has worked in various positions in the fund industry in Luxembourg and Germany. She joins Arendt from Commerz Real AG, where she most recently served as Head of Transactions, Structuring & Asset Advisory.
