The partners of Luxembourg law firm Elvinger Hoss Prussen have announced the promotion of Joachim Cour, Thierry Kauffman and Michel Nickels to Partner as of 1 January 2018.

One of the firm’s new partners, Joachim Cour, advises clients on a wide range of fund and regulatory matters as well as assisting asset managers in relation to the structuring of their Luxembourg investment vehicles across a wide range of asset classes. He also has expertise in fund listing as well as in the marketing of funds and financial services. Holding a Master's degree in law from the University of Pau and a Master's degree in political science from the University of Montpellier, Joachim joined Elvinger Hoss Prussen in 2008 and has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 2010.

A second addition to the law firm, Thierry Kauffman’s principal fields of activity are corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, finance and structured finance. He holds a Master’s degree in Law from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and a Master’s degree in international private and business law from the Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas. Thierry is also the Vice-President of the Comité de la Conférence du Jeune Barreau de Luxembourg and joined Elvinger Hoss Prussen in 2008 before becoming a member of the Luxembourg Bar in 2009.

Lastly, Michel Nickels' expertise lie in commercial and civil litigation, as well as real estate, construction and insolvency law. He holds a Maîtrise in private law and a Master’s degree in banking and financial law from the Université Robert Schuman in Strasbourg. Michel joined Elvinger Hoss Prussen in 2008 and has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 2009. He is also a member of the Union Internationale des Avocats.
