The National Library of Luxembourg (BnL) has announced that it will be carrying out inventory work on the non-Luxembourg levels between 4 July and 26 August 2016.
The work is being carried out as art of preparations for the new BnL building and will involve equipping around 240,000 books with barcodes to optimise the loaning system.
To carry out this large-scale project, the BnL will consequently be obliged to block out a part of the non-Luxembourg area in the main building along boulevard Roosevelt. The books concerned will therefore not be accessible for loan or consultation.
The BnL is advising users to anticipate what they would wish to order and reserve it before 4 July 2016. Bookings can be made via the www.a-z.lu search engine. This will enable the user to see if the selected document is available or not.
