one day I will write a poem, by Lambert Schlechter;

A selection of Lambert Schlechter’s poems has been published by Black Fountain Press: "one day I will write a poem" contains a selection of Schlechter’s nine-line poems from four collections previously published by éditions Phi (Piéton sur la voie lactée, Enculer la camarde, Je est un pronom sans conséquence, Milliards de manières de mourir) as well as a few as yet unpublished works.

Lambert Schlechter has written hundreds of poems, even thousands. Yet as a writer, he goes on experimenting with new ideas and new forms all the time, and even with new languages. So far Schlechter’s work has been translated into Armenian, Bulgarian, Italian and Bosnian. Translations in Spanish and Arabic are planned for 2018. "one day I will write a poem" is the first English translation, long overdue, since Schlechter, one of the most prolific and renowned Luxembourgish poets, has a deep, longstanding affinity with English and American poetry.

The Black Fountain collection includes new poems composed in English, so that it becomes a radically different experience even for those who already know Schlechter’s work.

"one day I will write a poem" is divided into nine parts, beautifully illustrated with photoworks by Lysiane Schlechter. It is available online (www.blackfountain.lu) or in bookshops as of 29 March 2018. The 212-page publication costs €22.
