The Luxembourg authorities will be participating in "Cyber Europe 2018 - Preparing Aviation to Respond to Cyber Crises" on 6 and 7 June 2018.

The Office of the High Commissioner for National Protection (HCPN), the National Agency for Information Systems Security (ANSSI.lu) and the GOVCERT of the Luxembourg Government (Computer Emergency Response Team) are set to take part in the 5th edition of Cyber Europe exercises this week.

Cyber ​​Europe 2018 is a large pan-European cyber security exercise organised by the European Cyber ​​Security Agency (ENISA). The exercise involves simulating a major cyber attack on the civil aviation sector. Scaffolded in the field of civil aviation, the scenario of the year 2018 "Preparing Aviation to Respond to Cyber ​​Crises", will take place in a real context and will consist in simulating incidents on the information systems of airports of the European Union. The incidents will be progressively developed until they reach a situation of crisis of European scale.

The Luxembourg participation in this exercise will be coordinated by the Office of the High Commissioner for National Protection with the participation of Luxairport, the Air Navigation Administration and the Luxair Group and, as observers, the Customs and Excise Administration, the Directorate of Civil Aviation, Security made in Luxembourg (SMILE GIE), the Central Police Unit at the airport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Cyber ​​Europe 2018 aims to test current procedures and means of cooperation as well as crisis management mechanisms in Europe, build capacity at national level and consolidate the current cooperation between the public and private sectors.
