37 year-old Motorist Dies in N8 Accident

On Thursday 5 July 2018, a 37 year-old motorist from Libramont in Belgium died in an accident on the N8 in Luxembourg, between Brouch and Saeul.

The accident happened shortly after 20:00. According to the Grand Ducal Police, the car was travelling towards Saeul and was navigating a corner when it was involved in a head-on collision with a bus travelling in the opposite direction.

Upon impact the car then hit a roadside tree. The driver was trapped in the vehicle and had to be released by rescue services. The driver did not survive the accident and was declared dead at the scene of the accident as a result of his injuries sustained.

The road was closed to traffic for a while during which time the rescue and recovery work were undertaken.
