On Tuesday 7 November 2017, Guardian Glass in Europe inaugurated their new state-of-the-art emissions control system at the company’s float glass plant in Dudelange, with Luxembourg’s Minister of the Environment, Carole Dieschbourg, and the Mayor of Dudelange, Dan Biancalana, joining Guardian Glass in Europe leadership for the occasion.

Joined by Guus Boekhoudt, Vice President of Guardian Glass in Europe, Jose Miguel Villacorta, Dudelange Plant Manager, and Jean Ries, Director Government and Public Affairs Guardian Europe, those attending witnessed the massive installation that greatly reduces plant emissions from the float glass process, specifically NOx, SOx and dust.

The control system has been fully operational for four months now, and ensures the Dudelange plant complies with the recent limits set by the Luxembourgish Environment Agency and with the EU Industrial Emission directive. A similar system was installed at the Guardian Glass Bascharage plant in 2013.

With this new emissions control system, Guardian Glass affirms its commitment to the efficient use of natural resources while operating in a way that protects the safety, health and well-being of its employees, the environment and the communities in which it operates” said Guus Boekhoudt.

Guardian Glass Europe

Guardian first entered Europe in 1981 with the float glass plant in Bascharage. Today, its European business has 10 float glass plants across Europe and Russia and more than 4,000 employees.

The Dudelange plant started operations in 1988. Since then the plant has grown considerably both in capacity and capabilities and produces float glass, laminated glass (for safety, security and sound control applications), copper-free mirror and lacquered glass.
