On Monday 22 August 2022, the Luxembourg government, represented by the Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Georges Engel, signed an agreement with the unions OGBL and LCGB, the FEDIL, as well as the Management of Guardian Luxguard II S.à.r.l., in order to approve a new employment retention plan of the company for the period from 1 September 2022 to 31 December 2024.

This agreement is the result of a tripartite sectoral meeting that took place on 27 July 2022.

The objectives of the agreement are to support the restructuring of the company Guardian Luxguard II S.à.r.l. in Luxembourg, to develop its activities in a competitive, modern and sustainable manner and to create an environment enabling the company's activities and jobs to be maintained in Luxembourg while authorising a reduction in work not exceeding 1,714 hours per employee per year.

Minister Engel reiterated the importance of social dialogue and welcomed the fruitful exchanges with the social partners and the management of the company, which allowed a solution to be found in the interests of all employees.
