As part of the implementation of efforts to promote the Nation Branding strategy and at the initiative of the Inspiring Luxembourg Coordination Committee, 120 pictograms (both fixed and animated) reflecting the different facets of the Grand Duchy and the Luxembourg way of life have been developed.

Called "EmoXies" by allusion to the "X" of the Luxembourg Signature, these emojis offer everyone the opportunity to give a "Luxembourgish" touch to their messages. Each EmoXie tells a story of the Grand Duchy and can therefore be used to present the country in a fun way.

EmoXies are now available through the free app called EmoXies, which can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android platforms. The pictograms can also be downloaded via the website https://www.emoxies.lu.

Grouped into different categories (expressions, emotions, tourism, industry, culture, gastronomy, etc.), the EmoXies represent a first selection of emblematic illustrations from Luxembourg. Far from being completed, the project is destined to be enriched as and when a call is made to the public to complete the series with suggestions, which is very much in line with the participatory approach of the Nation Branding process. .

The use of EmoXies is not confined to the digital world, but can also be transposed in the field of print, audio-visual and many others. Thanks to their multiple applications, EmoXies complete the existing communication tools made available to Luxembourg's partners - "let's make it happen" to promote the Grand Duchy.

As part of the celebrations of the national holiday, Luxembourg's Secretary of State for the Economy, Francine Closener, will officially launch the EmoXies on Friday 22 June 2018 at lunchtime at Place Jan Pallach in Luxembourg-ville on the "Luxembourg - Let's make it happen" stand, where the award ceremony of the Instagram contest" OurLuxembourg" will also take place. Throughout the day the general public is invited to visit the booth to leave with goodies to the visuals of EmoXies.
