The Quadripartite Committee will meet on Wednesday 18 October 2017 at the Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg to discuss maternity and health insurance matters.

Under the presidency of Social Security Minister Romain Schneider in collaboration with the Minister of Health Lydia Mutsch, the quadripartite committee will first examine the financial situation of the health and maternity insurance, as well as the latest financial forecasts for the years 2017 and 2018.

Minister Schneider will then propose a set of new services or improvements to existing services for the insured. These were discussed at the last meeting of the committee in May 2017. Regarding the draft law on hospital facilities and hospital planning, Lydia Mutsch will take stock of progress in the legislative process.

The Minister of Health will present the latest developments since the last quadripartite committee to improve the functioning of the emergency services. This exercise is part of the ongoing process to identify causes of congestion with a view to identifying concrete and sustainable proposals for improving the organisation of the emergency services.

This meeting of the quadripartite committee will also be the occasion to address various current issues in the field of health and maternity insurance.

The quadripartite committee provided for in Article 80 of the Social Security Code brings together all the parties involved in the governance and operation of health and maternity insurance. In this case, it is the government, representatives of the most representative professional organisations of employees and employers, as well as representatives of health care providers.
