From 9 to 11 November 2017, Luxembourg will host the International Symposium on Molecular Allergology (ISMA), which will bring together more than 300 experts under the roof of the European Convention Centre Luxembourg on the Kirchberg plateau.

For the first time, the Department of Infection and Immunity of the Luxembourg Institute of Health, focused on research in allergology and clinical immunology, will co-organise this major international scientific event in Luxembourg. The Symposium, previously held in other European capitals like Lisbon and Vienna, aims to promote the establishment of strong scientific links between scientists at the international level and enhance the intensity of scientific debate and exchange of ideas.

The 2017 conference programme will include not only subjects dealing with allergens, but also the analysis of molecular allergen structures and the challenges of molecular diagnosis, as well as the allergy treatment. A parallel programme will address emerging topics in the field of molecular allergology, such as the relationship between allergic diseases and the microbiome, recent developments in the field of personalised medicine, biomarker research, and biological therapies. The LIH researchers will contribute to the conference programme by presenting the research projects developed in the field in Luxembourg.

The congress will begin Thursday 9 November at 13:45 and the full event programme is available online at http://www.eaaci.org/focused-meetings/isma-2017/scientific-programme
