On Friday 23 March 2018, the Luxembourg Centre for Biomedicine Systems (LCSB) and the Directorate of Health of the University of Luxembourg will present “ParkinsonNet”, a network for Parkinson’s disease, at the University of Luxembourg.

As part of the official launch of ParkinsonNet, the LCSB and the Directorate of Health will present this network, initially developed in the Netherlands (ParkinsonNet NL), which aims to improve treatment possibilities for Parkinson’s disease thanks to better networking.

ParkinsonNet's goal is to improve the quality of care, better meet the needs of patients and reduce costs through better national coordination of the care of people with Parkinson's disease. Indeed, an intensive exchange between treating physicians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists and researchers, as well as patients and patients' associations, is essential for the optimal treatment, autonomy and quality of life of the people concerned.

Speakers at this presentation include Professor Dr. Rejko Krüger (LCSB), Marc Schiltz (National Research Fund), Bas Bloem (ParkinsonNet NL) and Dr. Jean-Claude Schmit, Director of Health.

The event will start at 10:00 at the Maison du Savoir, Room 3.330, on the University of Luxembourg’s Belval campus (2 University Avenue, L-4365 Esch-sur-Alzette).
