The Luxembourg Ministry of Health has launched this year's "Don't play with your health!" summer awareness campaign aimed at preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

In light of increased cases of STIs such as gonorrhoea, syphilis, chlamydia, HPV (Human papilloma virus), HIV, genital herpes and Hepatitis B and C, the Ministry of Health launches a summer awareness campaign each year to highlight the importance of condom use and encourage sexually active people to get tested regularly.

Simple actions to avoid transmission include using a condom every time and with every new partner, checking for STIs and HIV on a regular basis if engaging in intercourse with multiple partners or in the case of considering stopping condom use with a regular partner, always taking the treatments prescribed by a doctor correctly and finally, informing one's partner(s) so that they can also get tested and treated if necessary.

The 2018 edition of the "Don't play with your health!" awareness campaign encompasses information leaflets, posters and animations, available under the "sexually transmitted infections" section of the site www.sante.lu and on www.safersex.lu.
