Luxembourg-founded medical booking startup Doctena has secured €8 million from private investors to fuel its European expansion.

Doctena is a leading doctor booking platform in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Benelux countries. The new funding it has received will be used to consolidate existing markets and expand its leadership position in the European countries in which it operates.

CEO and founder of Doctena, Patrick Kersten, commented: “Our cloud calendar solution is adapted to drive efficiency in everyday management of a medical practice. The medical team does not only save time when appointments are booked digitally. We help reduce no-shows up to 70%. Many empty slots, that would have stayed empty, are made available last minute to patients happy to get fast access to treatment.”

Indeed, the Doctena cloud calendar solution has been uniquely developed to embrace organisational rules inside the practice. The advantages for the medical practices are many, including less time spent on the phone, a higher attendance of patients due to reminders and improved patient satisfaction and retention.

In Germany, 28% of the population have already used online booking, whilst 59% would like to have access to it, and yearly satisfaction surveys among Doctena patients show satisfaction rates of up to 97%.

Over 10,000 doctors use Doctena, representing 1.5 million medical visits every month.
