Foyer Group has launched two projects in collaboration with the SnT (Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust) of the University of Luxembourg as part of its open innovation strategy.

This collaboration between SnT, the University of Luxembourg’s research centre dedicated to information and communication technologies, and Foyer Group, intends to meet the new needs of the latter’s customers in a context marked by digital transformation and new technologies.

The partnership, signed on 5 June 2018 for the university’s "Partnership Day 2018", covers a four-year period and concerns the co-financing of two PhDs, the first in the field of data and the second on the new Luxembourg mobility.

The evolution of the competitive landscape, the digitalisation of the ecosystem and new consumption habits are considered an opportunity to reinvent the insurance business. And in this context, market players must now work a strategic raw material and so far under exploited: data. To do this, Foyer Group inaugurated, at the end of 2017, its new Centre of Analytical Expertise in charge of data governance and exploitation, the "Data Studio". This multidisciplinary team reinvents the way in which Foyer's possession is identified, secured and processed.

Regarding mobility, for several years, Luxembourg has been facing a real challenge with the constant increase in the number of residents and border commuters, which makes it necessary to completely rethink the mobility of all. For Foyer, it is essential to be part of the new Luxembourg mobility. Its partnership with the SnT will, thanks to the use of the autonomous vehicle equipped by the University of Luxembourg, educate the Luxembourg public on autonomous driving and anticipate the new needs in the matter.

By focusing on prevention, reducing the number and frequency of accidents, this project intends to make it possible to co-build the insurance solutions of the future with the Luxembourg ecosystem.
