On Friday morning,  Luxembourg's Minister of Sustainable Development and Infrastructures, François Bausch, together with Lydie Polfer, Mayor of the City of Luxembourg, Patrick Goldschmidt, alderman responsible for mobility, together with Luxtram officials and in the presence of many guests, inaugurated three new stations of the tram network, which is now extended to the Place de l'Etoile in Luxembourg city.

After the first section linking LuxExpo to the Pont Rouge was commissioned in December 2017, the tram is now serving three new stations: Theatre, Faiencerie and Stäreplaz / Etoile and links the Kirchberg plateau to the city centre.

A total of nine trams are in circulation on the Luxexpo - Stäreplaz / Etoile section. Delivery of the next tram is scheduled for early 2019.

The tram runs every day of the week, from Monday to Sunday. From Monday to Friday, the first tram leaves "Luxexpo" at 04:47 and "Stäreplaz / Etoile" at 05:07. The trams leave every 6 minutes between 06:30 and 19:30, and every 10 to 15 minutes outside these times. On Saturdays, the first tram departs from the "Luxexpo" stop at 05:35. At "Stäreplaz / Etoile", the first travelers will be able to board the tram from 05:55. The frequency is 10 minutes between 08:00 and 19:30. The last departure of the new tram terminus Stäreplaz / Etoile is at 23:54. On Sundays, a tram runs every 15 minutes, with the same amplitude as on Saturdays.

Tram movement during the Schueberfouer from 14 August and as part of the Schueberfouer setting-up, the tram will run on a single lane. Its speed will be limited to a maximum of 20 km/h. The tram timetable will be adapted to the opening hours of the event; from Sunday to Thursday, the tram will run until 01:30 in the morning and on Fridays and Saturdays until 02:30 in the morning.

Between 27 July and 16 September 2018, all bus lines of the City of Luxembourg and RGTR regional buses will stop at the new stops of the Route d'Arlon to accommodate travelers. The Stäreplaz / Etoile exchange centre will be operational on 16 September 2018 and a new bus organisation system will be established around the pole, which will be presented in the beginning of September.

The tram will be free for all passengers from Friday 27 July to Sunday 16 September inclusive, when the new Stäreplaz / Etoile multimodal interchange hub will open.
