On 7 February 2018, Luxembourg Minister of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure François Bausch met with the Road Accident Victims Association (AVR).
Following the request of the AVR, the minister François Bausch last week received the association’s president Raymond Schintgen, as well as five members of the board of directors and the team, in the presence of the director of the Road Safety ASBL, Isabelle Medinger.
During the meeting, AVR officials asked the department for an inventory of the removal of isolated or dangerous trees and the installation of additional barriers along national roads. They also discussed the subject of radars and red light studies, which are currently underway and are likely to be completed by the end of the year.
In addition, the association requested the establishment of an awareness campaign focused on the often underestimated issue of minor and even serious injuries, possibly in the form of witness testimonies. François Bausch proposed to launch this campaign at the beginning of July 2018.
Finally, at the request of the AVR, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure will initiate the implementation of a Road Safety Pact with the municipalities.
