Luxembourg race driver Dylan Pereira has kicked off the season with a 2nd and 3rd place victory at the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany 2018.

Dylan Pereira has been continuing his preparation for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup by winning 2nd and 3rd place at the start of this year’s Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, the support championship at the German ADAC GT Masters.

The first two races of the season took place this weekend in Oschersleben during which Dylan Pereira climbed twice on the podium.

After passing one of the fastest qualifiers, Dylan Pereira started the first race in 4th place on the grid. An excellent start allowed him to climb a spot at the expense of the Dutchman Larry ten Voorde, over whom he took a small lead.

In the middle of the race, an accident amongst the squad of 29 drivers brought in the safety car, allowing ten Voorde to pick up Dylan Pereira. On the other hand, Polish race driver Robert Lukas, who was riding ahead of Dylan, began to have tyre problems and slowed the pace but did not allow the Luxembourger to overtake. In front, the champion of the 2017 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, Germany’s Michael Ammermüller took a slight advantage and made it to the finish line in 1st place. Robert Lukas finished in 2nd and Dylan Pereira took the colours of Luxembourg to the 3rd step of the podium.

In the second race, Dylan Pereira, who finished third in the grid, got off to a good start and despite the pressure managed to keep his place, immediately putting pressure on Robert Lukas. Four laps from the end, Dylan Pereira managed an excellent manoeuvre that allowed him to overtake Robert Lukas and jump to 2nd place.

With these results, Dylan Pereira starts in the 2nd overall position of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany with 36 points.

In top form, Dylan Pereira will be back in the competition for the first race of the 2018 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, his main goal of the season, from 11-13 May in Barcelona at the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix.
