New research from tyre-fitting specialist Just Tyres has found Luxembourg to be the cheapest country for diesel in Europe.

Just Tyres combined the average fuel prices for 29 European countries with fuel consumption data to reveal the European country where people can drive the most distance and get the best value for money. The results are shown in an infographic entitled “Europe’s Fuel Price Index”.

According to this data, Luxembourg takes the number one hotspot for value for diesel, as well as making the top 10 for value for petrol, ranking in 5th place. Drivers in Luxembourg can travel 906 miles with £50 worth of diesel and 538 miles with £50 worth of petrol.

The distance to drive with £50 worth of fuel could vary by up to 514 miles depending on the destination country and whether the car uses petrol or diesel, according to Just Tyres’ index. For instance, filling up the tank in Bulgaria- no.1 on the list for value petrol- with £50 of petrol would offer 210 more miles than in Norway.
