The Grand Ducal Police have reported that on Wednesday morning at around 07:00, on the N12 between Grosbous and Hierheck, around Lehrhaff, a serious traffic accident took place which claimed the life of a 22 year-old motorist.
A driver was travelling in his car from Grosbous, when it went off the road just before the village of Lehrhof/Lehrhaff, after a right-hand corner, and hit a tree, with the driver's side of the car taking the full force of the impact. The car then came to a rest in a field.
The seriously injured driver was first attended to by ambulance paramedics and was then taken to the hospital for further treatment. The 22-year-old resident from the northwest of the country died in hospital during the night as a result of his injuries sustained in the accident.
The public prosecutor's office ordered a forensics examination of the accident scene to help determine the exact cause of the accident.
