The popular Luxembourg Museum Days are being held on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May 2018, within an Open Doors format.

The Luxembourg Museum Days will see no less than 40 museums in Luxembourg open their doors free-of-charge. This is the ideal opportunity to (re)discover the exceptional museum heritage of the Grand Duchy and enjoy a rich and eclectic cultural offer.

Luxembourg offers a great diversity of museums, specialised in fields as varied as history, nature, art, photography, archaeology, technology, iron and steel, and the traditions and customs of yesteryear.

Born under the title "Madame, Monsieur, L'Invitation aux Musées" in 1997 at the initiative of the group "d'stater muséeën", the project organisers have chosen to modernise its name and graphic identity. The idea was to have a name that is both fluid and more international. Accompanied by a slogan in Luxembourgish, the organisers are encouraging people to take the opportunity to travel the country to discover museums and learn more about the history and heritage of their region.
Museums play an important role in the transmission of cultural heritage. The organisers are proud to have been awarded the "European Year of Cultural Heritage" label for the Luxembourg Museum Days.
