The Luxembourg Museum Days will take place on 19 and 20 May 2018; over these two days, visitors are being offered free access to the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions of 49 museums and art galleries throughout Luxembourg.

Launched in 1997 at the initiative of the "stater museën" group and extended over the last nine years to some forty museums in the Grand Duchy, "L'Invitation aux Musées" is now re-branded as "Luxembourg Museum Days". The Luxembourg Museum Days are a privileged moment to visit the exceptional museum heritage of Luxembourg and to enjoy a rich and eclectic cultural offer.

From Clervaux to Rumelange, via Rosport and Beckerich, Luxembourg can enjoy a great diversity of museums, specialised in fields as varied as history, nature, art, photography, archeology, technology, iron and steel, or the traditions and customs of yesteryear.

The museums each offer a varied cultural programme for the whole family, with guided tours, workshops, performances, concerts, tastings and entertainment for children: a cultural mediation work that aims to raise awareness among the public and the public. introduce to cultural practice.

Four museums are taking part for the first time: the "Pomjeesmuseum" firefighters' museum in Senningen, the former Pfaffenthal mustard factory called "Muerbelsmillen", the distillery museum in Kehlen and the General Patton Memorial Museum in Ettelbruck.

The Luxembourg Museum Days are also part of the program of the "European Year of Cultural Heritage".
