Luxembourg cellist André Mergenthaler and Canadian violinist Hannah Epperson will be performing on Saturday 2 June 2018 at 20:00, as part of the Brandbau sessions in Wiltz.

The Brandbau sessions in Wiltz will kick off their fourth round next weekend: this time, the organisers Prabbeli have invited Hannah Epperson (Canada) and André Mergenthaler (Luxembourg) to the stage. Both artists combine string music with electronic sounds in their creations.

André Mergenthaler was born in Luxembourg in 1957 and studied cello in Luxembourg, Paris and at the Cologne Conservatory with Boris Pergamenschikov. The cellist expands the musical space of his instrument with live electronics and creates an unmistakable stylistic pluralism. He has recorded several CDs and composed for film and theatre. In his work "Cello Loops" he combined his own compositions and adaptations of classical themes.

Meanwhile, Hannah Epperson creates her own atmosphere with her violin, looppedal and voice. The Canadian with an American passport creates her own sound worlds, sometimes reduced instrumental, sometimes conceived in a crystal-clear pop robe. She has been touring Europe for the past two years and has given numerous concerts, including in the Elbphilharmonie. In Wiltz, the artist will present her second album Slowdown, which was released in February 2018.

Tickets cost €12, €6 (reduced) or €1.50 (Kulturpass). These are available online at prabbeli.lu, via tel.: +352 95 92 051 (Mon-Fri, 10:00-12:00 & 13:00-18:00) or at the Prabbeli ticket shop (8 Gruberbeerig, L-9538 Wiltz, open Mon-Fri, 10:00-12:00 & 13:00-18:00).
