This year’s Eurosonic festival, taking place from 17 to 20 January 2018 in Groningen in the Netherlands, will welcome Luxembourg project ‘Drops & Points’ and District 7 artists.

After Cleveland and Rome in 2017, Eurosonic Nooderslag (ESNS) will see performances from Luxembourg Jazz artist Pascal Schumacher ft. Maxime Delpierre’s project ‘Drops & Points’ and Luxembourg indie-rockers District 7. The District 7 artists will be replacing the Austinn band which cancelled their performance last-minute for health reasons.

ESNS is the place to discover the best emerging talent in Europe. The event has helped various groups to break into the international music scene such as Ásgeir, Dua Lipa, Hozier, HER, Royald Blood, all of whom played at ESNS as emerging talents. Each year, the scenes of the ESNS welcome more 350 concerts throughout the city of Groningen, while offering a programme of nearly 150 lectures and speeches as well as networking opportunities.

Representing Luxembourg, District 7 will perform on Thursday 18 January at All Round Poolcentrum, from 20:45-21:30, followed by live electro project Drops & Points on Friday 19 January at Stadsschouwburg, from 20:00-20:45.

As a member of the European Talent Exchange Program (ETEP), the Rock-A-Field Festival will also be present at ESNS, along with the Sonic Visions/Rockhal, Rotondes and other professionals from Luxembourg, to discover new talents. Created in 2003, this Eurosonic-based European Talent Exchange programme has allowed 3,091 concerts by 1,082 artists from 31 different countries in Europe.
