Over the Pentecost / Whit week-end, Special Olympics Luxembourg will be hosting a European Bocce tournament in Esch-Belval / Metzerlach.

The Special Olympics athletes will participate in this event over the long week-end of Pentecost, with around 80 athletes from 11 nations participating in this event.
With the Luxembourg Federation of Boules et Pétanque (FLBP) and the Municipality of Sanem, Special Olympics Luxembourg is working with privileged partners to organise this event. President Gérard Schneider's team is heavily involved in the tournament and delegates the official judges.

The tournament starts on Saturday morning at 09:00 with divisioning for a good distribution into homogeneous groups. The first final matches will be played until 17:00 before the transfer to Soleuvre and Artikuss where the opening ceremony will take place (19:00 to 21:00).

On Sunday (09:00 to 17:30) the rest of the finals (singles) will be held. The, on Monday morning (from 09:00) the doubles finals will be held, while the afternoon will be reserved for the medal ceremony.

The tournament will close in the evening at the Threeland Hotel in Pétange.​
