Sailing Passion is organising two sailing competitions next year, the Siggy’s Cup and European Schools’ Cup.
The asbl Sailing Passion will once again hold its Siggy’s Cup in Croatia, from 5 to 10 May 2017. However, this year, for a change, the competition will leave from the marina Hramina in Murter, where a monotype flotilla (2 series) will be waiting for competitors.
Additionally, there will be two prize-giving ceremonies for two competitions: one among the 4-cabin boats, and another among the 3-cabin vessels. Nevertheless, participants will still all compete together and race the same itineraries, but now, each series (4- and 3-cabin) will have its own 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners.
Due to the success of last year’s Schools’ Cup, the club is now also opening its doors to all European schools, as well as all other schools within Europe. The sailing schools will return to Croatia from 31 March to 7 April 2017.
Those interested, be they parents, students or teachers, have been invited to attend the first meeting, which will take place at the European School Kirchberg 1 on Monday 16 October 2017 at 17:15, at the Secondary building, room F011. The meeting will cover feedback on the Schools' Cup 2017 and dates and times of this year’s European Schools' Cup as well as the planned itinerary, transportation, costs, required documents and Q&As.
The club has also launched a call for skippers in the Schools’ Cup 2018. Those with a sailing license who are keen on teaching teenagers how to manoeuvre a sailboat should contact the club as soon as possible.
