Next year’s ING Night Marathon Luxembourg will see the introduction of a special triathlon event: TriDays.

The first edition of the TriDays will be launched at the 14th ING Night Marathon Luxembourg 2019 by race organisers Step by Step Partners SA and Endurance Sports Marketing (ESM). The event will include the Ironman challenge: 3.8km of swimming, 180km of cycling and 42.195km of running. The three events will be split over three days.

Erich François, founder and race director of the popular night marathon, commented on the launch: "We have gradually evolved the ING Night Marathon Luxembourg in recent years to reach a capacity of 16,000 participants. It's time to take on a new challenge."

TriDays will not only allow triathletes to experience a new out of the ordinary sporting event with each participant choosing their discipline(s). As well as individual participants, teams composed of two or three athletes can compete in the different traithlon events.

The first event, the 3.8km swimming competition, will take place on Thursday 30 May 2019 in Luxembourg. The second discipline, the 180km cycling race, will be held on Friday 31 May 2019. The final 42km run will form part of the ING Night Marathon Luxembourg on the evening of Saturday 1 June 2019, where athletes will be encouraged by several hundred thousand spectators along the route in the Luxembourg capital. The exact route is in the finalisation phase.

For the first edition of 2019, the number of participants is limited to 500 for this new event on the Luxembourg sports calendar.
