Applications for international protection per month;

Luxembourg received 192 applications for international protection in September 2017, bringing the total received so far this year up to 1744.
During the month of September, Luxembourg relocated 43 Eritrean and 5 Syrian nationals coming from Italy. These individuals have been included in the statistics on applications for international protection and will follow the procedure.
Coming from Europe, the biggest group of applicants for international protection in Luxembourg came from Kosovo and Albania, with nine and eight applications respectively. Looking at Asia and Africa, the largest number of applications came from Syrian nationals (19), followed by Georgia and Iraq (15 each) and 46 from Eritrean nationals, by far the biggest group from the African continent. In addition, one Colombian and two Mexican applications were processed.
The OLAI will take care of the reception and the social support for the group and will support them in their approaches of everyday life throughout the procedure of their request for international protection.
