At a conference entitled "The transition continues" organised on Thursday 9 November 2017 at the Grand Theater in Luxembourg city, by myenergy and the Ministry of Economy, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Étienne Schneider, presented the interim report on work started since the official presentation of the Rifkin study in November 2016.

Over the past year, different thematic platforms have analysed and deepened the measures and proposals that emerged from the strategic study of "Third Industrial Revolution". The collective process initiated since November 2016 and the implementation of related governance have brought together, within 8 thematic platforms, over 30 meetings, about 350 socio-economic actors.

The first intermediate results of the work on these platforms, presented by Minister Schneider, are detailed in a follow-up report which was presented on 19 October 2017 to the strategic monitoring committee made up of representatives of the ministries involved, the employers' organisations, trade unions, professional chambers and civil society. This report was sent to the Chamber of Deputies for the consultation debate on 16 November 2017.

During the conference, an inter-generational exchange took place and allowed young people to present their ideas for the future and to question the members of the government present. Then, a panel of political discussion on the topic of the qualitative growth brought together the ministers Etienne Schneider, Carole Dieschbourg, François Bausch, Pierre Gramegna and Nicolas Schmit, as well as senior representatives of the professional chambers.
